Energy Refunds & Credits
Kentucky Energy Direct Pay Authorization Program Implementation Services

Overview
Pegasus Capital, LLC & A. Leo Wright Consulting have partnered to assist clients in qualifying and implementing the Kentucky Energy Direct Pay Authorization Program.  Under this economic incentive program for manufacturers, energy intensive companies with facilities in Kentucky  are eligible for sales and school tax refunds and partial sales tax exemptions on future energy purchases.

As with most tax laws, qualifying for the refunds and exemptions takes time and effort.  Pegasus & Leo Wright have worked with past clients and the Revenue Cabinet to streamline this process.  Once a client engages Pegasus and provides basic accounting information, Pegasus will be able to implement the program on behalf of the client.  The net result is cash in the client's pocket in the form of tax refunds and future savings to the client by reducing sales and school tax on future energy purchases.

Process
After an initial no-cost consultation, Pegasus will determine the client’s eligibility for the program and the magnitude of potential refunds.  Clients will need to provide basic accounting data on energy usage and production cost.  All data is protected by a confidentiality agreement.  Once Pegasus confirms the viability of a refund, the client will formally engage Pegasus so we can act on their behalf with the Revenue Cabinet.  Pegasus will then represent the client and obtain the refunds and future exemptions.

Fees
Fees are only charged if a refund is obtained.  The client has no upfront cost and all fees are a percentage of savings.

Results
Results depend on your energy usage; however, several energy intensive companies have saved over $500,000 by working with Pegasus and Leo Wright.
